Black Lion Press Upgrade to YD-H1800R5
Bob and Mark Stokes from Black Lion Press Ltd in Maidstone, have just recently replaced their first wide format printer purchased from Repro Sales and Repairs Ltd.
Two years ago, we installed a Xenons R180 UV Hybrid Printer for them, to get them into the wide format market, with a production speed at saleable quality of 5 sqm per hour.
Having grown their market place, they decided to replace the Xenons R180 with a Yotta YD-H1800R5 UV Hybrid Printer, with Ricoh Gen5 print heads and an SAi Flexi RIP on PC from Repro Sales, giving 15sqm per hour at high quality.
Being a hybrid, it can handle both roll to roll and flat board up to 10ft x 5ft.
The installation, setup and training took 4 days, with production speeds now being met.
This set up allows Black Lion to handle larger orders at better quality whilst being very competitive.
Black Lion also have a litho section, with a 5 colour SM52 Heidelberg Press, full finishing and a high end Ricoh digital sheet fed system, making them a one stop shop for all print requirements.

Unlike other printers Black Lion Press, Maidstone, still offer the personal touch, although you can buy print via the website, they would still advise on quality of artwork prior to print rather than just taking your money and of course you can speak to them on that old thing called the telephone if you prefer!!
